Who we are

Preserve the Town of Melbourne Beach, Inc. is a group of residents dedicated to keeping Melbourne Beach, Florida, a safe, peaceful, family-oriented community. Our members include lifelong locals, long-term residents of 25+ years, and retirees drawn here by the small-town beach life Melbourne Beach is known for.

We formed in 2023 after recognizing growing challenges to our community. These include flooding during heavy rains, inadequate stormwater mitigation, the disruption caused by short-term rentals (Airbnb, VRBO), environmental concerns affecting the lagoon, unwanted changes in parks and streets, questionable spending of tax dollars, and weak fiscal management. We also see a troubling push by Town leaders to transform Melbourne Beach into a vacation destination.

By paying close attention to these issues, we realized the need to take a proactive role in preserving our community, improving fiscal responsibility, strengthening stormwater protections, and safeguarding the way of life that makes Melbourne Beach such a special place to live.
